Slowcooking

I don’t have time for slowcooking
Give it to me fast, give it to me plain
I don’t have time for waiting
Just tell me it’s all the same.
I don’t have time for tick tocks
No time to put on those fuzzy socks
I’ll go barefoot, I’ll sprint on those hard rocks
Because I have no time.
My life’s flavor is bland,
kinda gritty, like uncleaned sand.
Because there’s no time to slowcook
Marinate the thought, let it roast for a day,
Let it rest, let it sit, slice it nice and thin say
About a quarter inch, and just look at the drippings
Of a slowcooked dream…
That could have been…
I’m sure it would taste like some french delicacy…
Or chocolate covered philosophy…
Or like the celestial sky with its starlight veins…
But I don’t have time for slowcooking,
Give it to me fast, give it to me plain.
