Promise me

Promise me
a 100 year history
a world of wicked adventure
and chit-chat worn dentures.

Remind me
when I’m suffering from dementia
in my late twenties
with the smell of fresh Sencha
how wondrous life can be.

Promise flowers every valentines
along with your heart, sure to be mine.
And sing to me
with that Ukelele
all night long
that silly song…

Take me by the hand
and stroll south down Silver Strand
and lets tell our story
with our eyes…
Promise me
Promise that we’ll never die.
